Mélanie  🇲🇺

I’m Melanie, 28 from Mauritius Island 🇲🇺 I work in the human resource department for an airline company and love traveling. I love learning about new cultures and rediscovering my island through road trips. Some of my hobbies are beaching and hiking. My therapy is working out.

Last year I decided that at 27, I’ll start to prioritize myself and get the best out of those last years being in my twenties. So I divorced my ex, went back to the gym and started to love the whole me the way I needed to be loved.

I was a slim confident teenager but as from the moment I got my daughter, my body completely changed to this gorgeous curvy woman I am today and I have always loved it!

I don’t like to fit into molds, so being curvy has ever since been my way of saying that you can look great, sexy, proud, confident, healthy and still wear a size XXXL.

My cousin is that one person who has indirectly taught me that you can be whoever you want to be. She’s a beautiful young woman, melanin poppin’, intelligent, entrepreneur and confident. She’s the first one in the family to study abroad and come back with a master and she’s set the bar very high!

Being the biggest cousin, I have to maintain this highness for the upcoming generation to be motivated into doing better than us

If I could, I would tell the younger me to always put herself first and to never lower her standards to fit into molds not meant for her, she might lose herself in the process

My number one online influencer is Nancy Ramirez. She is gorgeous and you can see from all of her pictures how much she loves her imperfectly perfect body and the way she shows it off with so much confidence is incredibly sexy and motivating!

Of course I will also say Lizzo, she is THE reference for body positivity and the way she embraces her curves….speechless.

Of course social media is helping with the body positive movement but you have to look at it in all aspects. 20-30 years ago, you would barely see a big or curvy woman showing her body off or being on the cover of magazines.

Nowadays, it’s almost insulting not to find a woman with curves at the Fashion Week!

One of my friends years ago shared a post from Curvy Angels and I have followed it ever since. It definitely helped me realize my worth and boost up my self confidence
