Donna 💋

Hey y’all my name is Donna. I was born July the 4th so I’ve always been kind of a firecracker. I grew up and a small town called Townville South Carolina.

I’m 32 years old and a disabled mom with pulmonary fibrosis due to covid. I have a beautiful 8-year-old daughter. I absolutely love photography, fishing, camping ,modeling pin up and budiour, and of course moo moo cows.

My self confidence was definitely built over time. I started out by wearing clothes that got me out of my comfort zone, and from there I started doing little photo shoots of myself and posting them online to see if I would get more positive responses instead of negative and guess what I sure did ☺️.

I was definitely bullied a lot about my body image especially the clothes I wore growing up. I was the most country dress girl in my school and we grew up dirt poor.

The older I got the worse it got because the bigger I got and it was hard to find good fitting clothes to cover my body for cheap price.

I think being a bigger woman definitely has his challenges. You have to pay more for clothes and nine times out of 10 there is nothing cute at your local stores and when you order online you never know if items are true to their size.

When you go out to a buffet you have all eyes on you like what a big girl’s got to eat too you know.

Some women has medical conditions which makes it hard to lose weight but people are always so quick to judge without knowing the harder the person underneath the weight.

The person who has inspired and influenced me the most in my life was my memaw she ended up losing her legs due to diabetes and people would always stare at her.

She taught me people are going to stare people will laugh but I was remember those people need praying for and they will never be beautiful as you because your heart is beautiful. They only see what lays on the outside not on the inside.

If I could give my younger self some advice it would to not worry about what other people think and to take their words as a grain of salt.

You probably won’t ever see those people again anyways and when you get older no one really cares about what you wear and if they do always ask yourself are they the ones buying your clothes.

My biggest online influencer is Whitney Thore from the show my big fat fabulous Life. She is so body positive despite her medical conditions she still tries to lose weight and motivate other women.

I definitely think that social media is helping bring more body positive awareness. It is helping women and younger girls to know it’s okay not to be a size too. It’s okay to wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and the skin that you’re in.

I found out about Curvy Angels through facebook. It has definitely helped me by allowing me to post more pictures of myself and boosting my confidence by reading the nice comments from people all over the world that leave me.

I currently have work in retro lovely magazine. I have been published in 18 magazine since June of 2020.

I have an Instagram account @Donnamarie1989033 and I welcome anyone to follow me. I have had most of my photography work done by Emily Malsam with life exposed photography.
