My name is Riah Lynn, I’ve always had interest of becoming someone who others could look up too. I’ve been in the education field for almost seven years. I love teaching, I love seeing children grow each and everyday.
I love making an impact in every child’s life I’ve come across. I love the country life- but also the city. I love fishing, I love hunting, I love playing darts and shooting pool.
I ended up having the confidence today of loving my body because I realized it’s okay not to be perfect. That everyone is beautiful in their own way. I learned to love my body for as it’s a temple.
Brings me back to the making an impact in others lives- I wanted other women to also realize you didn’t need to be the “American standard”
Ever since I was a little girl, I was always on the heavier side. Growing up, kids weren’t nice- they would say things about my weight whenever there was a disagreement of some sort.
It effected me for many years, I looked at myself many times in the mirror wondering what’s wrong with me… when in reality — I was enough.
My thoughts on being curvy… I’m okay with the idea of it. People don’t have to accept anything about me, as long as I love myself that’s all that matters. Today, there’s so many curvy women- and they’re all so beautiful.
I’m all for women empowering each other and body positivity. I think everyday being a woman is very hard… so the thought of other women breaking each other down is mind blowing to me.
Seeing the women on Instagram, that are curvy and they absolutely love everything about themselves is who’ve influenced me the most. I realized it had to start within myself to truly be able to get myself through this journey.
I’ve had many people supporting me along my journey.
If I could tell my younger self one thing, it’s probably to never listen to what anyone has to say about you. For years I was always so worried about everyone else’s opinions- I never cared about my own.
Also to be happy, don’t be miserable with yourself. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated.
Online influences would be fashion nova, and shein curve. I always love wearing the clothes of these brands and also love seeing the influencers that are apart of it— since they’re curvy as well.
I found out about Curvy Angels on Instagram, I loved the page and seen so many things that made me want to be apart of the page.
I’ve been working with a photographer named Kayla, she’s a small business owner photographer and she does such an amazing with her work.
